Cookie Policy

Your controls

Use Manage cookies under Support in the website footer to accept, decline or select optional categories. Optional categories start off. Closing the panel or continuing to use the site does not grant consent. Declining optional storage does not prevent sign-in.

Necessary storage

  • Clerk authentication cookies, including the __session and __client_uat families, keep you signed in and validate sessions. Clerk manages their expiry and renewal according to the configured session settings. Sign-in providers may use their own cookies on their own sites.
  • World Footage's wf_contributor_registration_draft cookie holds an encrypted, HTTP-only registration draft for up to 20 minutes while registration completes. It is cleared after completion.
  • wf.consent.v1 in local storage remembers only your category choices, policy version and decision time for up to 180 days. It does not contain an account identifier. A changed policy version, expiry or cleared storage requires a new choice.
  • Hosting and authentication protection may set security cookies. These are distinct from optional measurement and are not cleared by the optional-storage controls.

Optional preferences

With your permission, wf.preferences.showreel.v1 in session storage remembers one numerical playback position for the sign-in background video. It expires after 24 hours or when the tab session ends, whichever happens first.

Optional performance diagnostics

With your permission, wf.performance.auth-diagnostic.v1 in session storage retains a random support reference, sign-in/sign-up flow and sign-in method across redirects for up to 20 minutes or the tab session. This record contains no password, email address, payment information or authentication token. Necessary server-side security and operational logs are separate.

Analytics and caches

Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights scripts are not enabled in this release. No analytics events are approved for collection. World Footage does not create IndexedDB databases, service-worker caches or offline media stores. Normal browser-managed caching of public assets is separate from application-managed optional storage.

Withdrawal and cleanup

Declining a category stops future optional reads and writes and removes the corresponding World Footage session values. Sign-out or account switching clears optional session values. We do not delete unrelated browser storage, authentication cookies or provider-managed cookies. Browser restrictions can prevent persistence or deletion; optional features must still work without storage. When a choice cannot be saved, it applies to the current page and you may be asked again.
